All Star Celebration For The Love Of The "Big
Catch" in "All Gone Fishin" CD
Bandit Records released today an all-star compilation CD singing the
praises for the sport of fishing. The CD features contributions from a
cross-section of generational country stars as well as a bluesman and
folkie or two.
Contributions from the country music world include GEORGE JONES, LITTLE
JIMMY DICKENS,MERLE HAGGARD, LORRIE MORGAN, PORTER WAGONER, BOBBY BARE,
JERRY REED, BRYAN WHITE, RACHEL PROCTOR,
TANYA TUCKER,
MEL TILLIS, PATTY LOVELESS and BOBBY BARE. Also featured on the album is
GARY SHIEBLER (who usually fronts the album’s main band, “World’s
Greatest Fishing Band,”) ARLO GUTHRIE (who sings his father, Woody
Guthrie’s classic “Talking Fishing Blues”) and bluesman DANNY GILLEY.
Most of the songs are self-penned by the artists and include a hilarious
take from Jerry Reed on “Front of the Boat” featuring Steve Wariner and
Gordon and Bryan Kennedy as well as Little Jimmy Dicken’s exaggerated tale
about the size of the catch on “The Picture,” which features his pal,
Brad Paisley on guitar.
Bandit Records is opting not to go through normal record retail in the
belief that the CD will be lost if filed under “F” for fishing. Instead
it will be offered on
Amazon.com,
CD Baby.com,
the artists’ websites as well as the Bandit website. In addition,
Turner’s Outdoorsman and other sporting goods stores will stock the CD
as well as specialty stores such as the gift shop at the Country Music
Hall of Fame.
The label has also tied in “Sponsors and Supporters” who have active
websites and include Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits and Yamabeef; GLoomis,
Shimano, Costa Del Mar Sunglasses “takemefising, McCoy Fishing Lines,
Garrison Guitar and The Intellitouch Tuner.
Gary Shiebler and Jimmy Johnson produced the project with Connie Nelson
acting as Executive Producer. Shiebler has a long history in the fishing
community, having fronted and produced his own records as the “World’s
Greatest Fishing Band” that caters to America’s favorite pastime and
appearing at the numerous tournaments and events that are held for the
60 million fishing enthusiasts.
