PARENTS:  Mother, Juanita, Father, Beau, who managed her career for years:  "My Dad is the best adviser I know, and he only went to the third grade.  So there's a lot to be said about just plain old horse sense, you know?"

Tanya recently sold her 35,000 square foot plantation-style mansion which sits on 500 acres in Arrington, TN,  for $11.5 Million, to make room for a golf course. The house will be converted to the club house!

Tanya's favorite hobby is riding cutting horses in competition: Tanya is the 1990 & 1996 National Cutting Horse Association Champion.

Stars & (Racing) Stripes:  In Sept, 2001, Tanya - who learned to race NASCAR Winston Cup race cars at the Fast Track High-Performance Driving School in Charlotte, N.C - sang "God Bless America" and "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the MBNA Cal Ripken Jr. 400, the first NASCAR race following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Movie & TV Roles:  An unbilled cameo in "Jeremiah Johnson" (1972), feature roles in "Hard Country" (1981), and the TV movies, "Amateur Night At The Dixie Bar & Grill" (1979), and "The Georgia Peaches" (1980), and guest-starring turns on three episodes of "The Love Boat".

Musical Influences:  Tammy Wynette, Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Connie Smith, Elvis Presley.

Awards:  CMA's for Female Vocalist of the Year (1991) and Album of the Year (Common Thread: The Songs Of The Eagles, various artists, (1994), ACM's for Most Promising Female Vocalist (1972) and Video of the Year ("Two Sparrows In A Hurricane" 1992)

Debut Singles:  Tanya turned down "The Happiest Girl In The Whole U.S.A":, in favor of the darker, "Delta Dawn", which debuted on the country charts May 13, 1972, eventually reaching No. 6.  Tanya was 13 at the time!  "I have the most sentimental attachment to 'Delta Dawn'" she says, "I think if I released it today it would still be a hit"

Tanya went on to have many hits during the 1990's, she also co-wrote "Nickel Dreams" her Biography in the late 1990's.  Tanya released her 31st Album in 2002, simply titled, "Tanya" & has released two singles from that album, "A Memory Like I'm Gonna Be" & "Old Weakness".  Her next projects will be a Christmas album & also putting together her 32nd album!
