Tanya Tucker Performs On Her Birthday
Tanya Tucker turns 49 (Oct. 10) . She's
celebrating her birthday at the Ryman Auditorium for the Steve Cropper Classic. Tucker moved from
Nashville to Los Angeles this year so her kids could
take acting lessons. She won the CMA Female Vocalist
award in 1991. Tanya had eight straight top ten singles
in the early 1990s, including "Down to My Last
Teardrop," " What Do I Do With Me" and "Two Sparrows in
a Hurricane."

Tucker Celebrates Birthday in Downtown Nashville
Tanya Tucker, along with close friends and
others, stayed until the wee hours of Thursday
morning (Oct. 11) at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge in
downtown Nashville to celebrate her 49th
birthday. For more than an hour, Tucker
performed a string of her hits, including "Would
You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)," "Some
Kind of Trouble," "Love Me Like You Used To,"
"Texas (When I Die)" and many more. Daughters
Presley and Layla both joined their mother on
stage during the evening. Sonny West, Elvis
Presley's close friend and former bodyguard, was
also in attendance. He said he's been friends
with Tanya for years and met her through Elvis.
"She just loved Elvis," he said.

rereleased. Capitol Records Nashville is
reissuing 20 digital albums from its vault. The
albums are also from classic artists such as
Billy Dean, John Berry, George Ducas, Cheryl
Wheeler and Lisa Brokop. All the albums will be
available starting February 26th.

Haggard, Willie Nelson, Porter Waggoner, Little Jimmy Dickens, Lorrie Morgan,
Jerry Reed, Bobby Bare & Others, with of course the Possum
himself contributing a song called "Beer, Bait & Ammo". Sounds like a fun cd to
me.....in case anyone doesn't know Bandit Records is George Jones' own label.
