On the carpet
--
Loretta Lynn, Rascal Flatts, the
Fisk Jubilee singers and Christian
rock group Jars of Clay, were
honored by the Music City Grammy
folks last night (4/9) at the Loews
Vanderbilt Hotel.
During a Red Carpet interview with
Country Music Across America's
Storme Warren, Tanya Tucker, at the
ceremony to sing Loretta's "Blue
Kentucky Girl," recalled a classic
story.
"A while back, Tammy Wynette,
Loretta and myself were hanging out
backstage at some event with one of
the new girls," Tanya explained.
"You know, the one hit and done
type? She was going on and on about
her nails saying that she needed
someone to come in and do them for
her. Tammy looked at us and went,
'She's not going to last".
At
that point, Loretta stepped into the
conversation and added, "I remember
another new girl who came up to us
(Loretta and Tammy) and said 'You
better get ready to step aside'.
Tammy said, 'Try and move me."
