Big home sales: Tanya Tucker sells spreadTanya Tucker's house (www.tanyatucker.net) Country
singer Tanya Tucker has sold her 500 acres of farmland in Arrington for
nearly $11.5 million. Could their sale mean a billionaire is coming to the area? The trust has been linked to billionaire Todd Wagner, who is a minority partner with Mark Cuban in the Dallas Mavericks. They sold Broadcast.com to Yahoo at the height of the Internet bubble for more than $5 billion. Wagner has been building an entertainment empire since the sale. Tax records
show three houses on the property, one built in 1926 and two in 1936.

Country music star Tanya Tucker's home in Williamson County has been sold to make way for a 495-home golf subdivision, according to the developer. Eagle Ridge Investments recently bought the 500-acre property off State Route 840 in Arrington plus an adjoining 160 acres for $13.5 million, according to one of the investors, D.J. Keehan.
"There's just beautiful terrain over there,'' Keehan said. "It's a gorgeous piece of land for a golf course." Tucker's home, which is home to horses and bison, will be turned into the clubhouse, Keehan said. The 22,620-square-foot main house has five bedrooms, six full and three half-bathrooms and a grand staircase. The house was featured along with Tucker and her family in the 2005 TLC reality series Tuckerville. Keehan also manages the Grey Hawk Golf Club outside of Cleveland, Ohio. Like Grey Hawk, the new golf subdivision will be an 18-hole public course surrounded by homes. Homeowners won't have to buy club memberships to play there. He said the property also would feature a public restaurant. Construction is expected to begin this summer, with the first homes to be sold next year starting around $550,000, Keehan said. "People are looking to move back to the rural areas,'' he said. "They're looking for something quieter. It's unbelievably tranquil and peaceful out there." |
